FAQ(Frequently Asked Questions)
What is your cancellation policy?
We offer flexible cancellation: Full refund (minus $100 admin fee) for cancellations 30+ days before departure; 50% refund for 15-29 days; no refund within 14 days. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance.
Are solo travelers welcome?
Absolutely! Solo travelers pay a single supplement (typically 40-60% of the per-person rate). We can also try to match you with another solo traveler to share costs.
What's the maximum group size?
Our standard safari vehicles accommodate maximum 6 guests (window seats guaranteed). For groups of 7+, we use multiple vehicles. Private safaris available for any group size.
Is travel insurance required?
While not mandatory, we strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering medical emergencies, trip cancellation, and evacuation. We include Flying Doctors emergency evacuation as standard.
What's included in "all meals"?
Breakfast (full English/continental), lunch (3-course or packed lunch on game drives), and dinner (3-4 course table d’hôte menu). Vegetarian, vegan, and special dietary needs accommodated with advance notice.
Can children join these safaris?
Yes! Most parks welcome children 5+. We provide car seats, adapt game drive timing, and select family-friendly lodges. The 5-Day Amboseli & Tsavo and 7-Day Highlights are especially family-oriented.
What fitness level is required?
Minimal fitness needed—safaris are vehicle-based. Walking is optional and limited. Notify us of any mobility concerns for appropriate accommodations.
When is the best time to visit?
Depends on your priorities: July-October for Great Migration; January-March for calving season and baby animals; April-May for lush landscapes and fewer crowds. Each season has unique advantages.
What should I pack?
Neutral-colored clothing (khaki, olive, beige), sun protection (hat, sunglasses, SPF 50+), camera with telephoto lens, binoculars, light jacket for early mornings, comfortable walking shoes. Full packing list provided upon booking.
Are vaccinations required?
Yellow fever vaccination required if arriving from endemic countries. Consult your doctor about malaria prophylaxis (risk varies by region). Routine vaccinations recommended.
What currency should I bring?
US Dollars (post-2009 notes) widely accepted. Kenyan Shillings useful for tips and small purchases. Credit cards accepted at most lodges. ATMs available in Nairobi.
Is Wi-Fi available?
Most lodges offer Wi-Fi in common areas (can be slow/intermittent in remote locations). Safari vehicles do not have Wi-Fi. Consider this a digital detox opportunity!
